How to Fix Read Only on Panasonic Camera

FZ100 read simply USB mass storage

FZ100 read but USB mass storage

Hello,
I am quite new FZ100 owner.

After connecting the camera to my PC I tin can download pictures from its bill of fare, just cannot change anything on the carte because information technology is read only. I utilise 16 GB class ten SDHC bill of fare. Lock switch has no effect on this behaviour.

Information technology would exist very practiced if Panasonic makes this USB mass storage writable so that I can remove photos from the card from my PC and as well upload photos and videos for Television set presentations using HDMI.
I tin solve information technology likewise with a card reader, but...
Practise y'all have the same experience?

Same for me too (FZ100)! For deleting or changing things on the card, I need to connect it via card reader. Likewise, if I put pictures from another camera/or from my FZ100 via computer dorsum on the card, the camera does not display them anymore.

Should never write to memory card via (any) camera. Too much risk of a screw-up. Apply card reader for this (if y'all must). Read/write firmware in photographic camera is slightly different than read/write software on estimator, sometimes causing unexpected results.

Employ camera only to erase menu or to reformat.

I would like to requite my card a proper noun or number instead of 'NO NAME'. That'southward all for me.

Being a retired Electrical Engineer, I really want to 2nd Gerry coments. Don't ever attempt to write to a SDHC memory carte in any card reader attached via a USB port. USB 2.0 will support very high data rates and most of the junk multiple retention card reader do a terrible job keeping up the data rate. Especially if it is attached via a USB extender cablevision from the back of your PC. Once you get them copied to your PC, just put the disk dorsum into the Camera and Format it totally there in Depression Level format. This is the "All-time" mode to insure the scrap is in skilful condition and some address has not been screwed up.

I cannot understand this i: I accept an 8gb card in my FZ18, and it has worked perfectly since the photographic camera was new.
